Disaster Assistance Available

Low-interest loans are available for those impacted by declared disasters.

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster assistance has been made available for the July 27, 2026 Severe Storms that affected Will County. Homeowners, renters, businesses, and some nonprofit groups may be able to apply for low-interest loans to help pay for damage or losses not covered by insurance.​​

Who can apply?

  • Businesses

  • Homeowners

  • Renters

  • Private non-profit organizations​​

 

You must be located in a declared disaster area and meet other eligibility criteria depending on the type of loan.

  • In Person until September 8

    • Village of University Park Community Room, 90 Town Center Drive, University Park

    • Monday - Friday 9 AM - 6 PM

    • Saturday 9 AM - 1 PM

    • ​Walk-ins are accepted, but you can schedule an in-person appointment in advance at appointment.sba.gov 

    • This location will be closed for Labor Day on September 7


What Types of Disaster Loans are Available?

  • Physical damage loans

    • Loans to cover repairs and replacement of physical assets damaged in a declared disaster.

  • Mitigation Assistance

    • Expanded funding to make improvements to eliminate future damage.

  • Economic Injury Disaster Loans

    • Funding to cover small business operating expenses after a declared disaster.
